Laura Sima

Laura Sima is an Associate Director with the Company Research team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Laura is based in the Paris office and focuses on the transformational paths taken by the oil & gas companies as they embrace the Energy Transition and the implications for their strategies and portfolios. Since joining the Companies & Transactions team in 2017, Laura has supported clients on a variety of topics such as capital and portfolio strategies for the Global IOCs, financial and operational analysis, performance benchmarking, investments in the low-carbon space and increasing role of ESG aspects, as well as M&A activity and trends across the EMEA region.

Laura has over eight years of experience with the consulting practice across Upstream, Automotive and Transportation sectors. Prior to S&P Global, she worked for Ineum Consulting (now Kurt Salmon) on the implementation of a defined-benefit pension scheme, social welfare and health insurance for the local employees of Total across several regions.

Laura holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School (France) with a specialisation in Petroleum Economics and Management from the IFP School (France); an MSc in consulting from Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University (France) and a BSc (honours) in computer science from the Faculty of Cybernetics (Romania). A Romanian national, she is fluent in English and French.
