Prior to the acquisition of Novation Analytics by IHS Markit, Pannone was president of Novation Analytics, a provider of software solutions, data analysis, and advisory services with focus on vehicle energy requirements and greenhouse gas emissions.
Before establishing Novation Analytics in 2011, Pannone was Head of Fuel Economy, Performance, and Powertrain Synthesis at Chrysler Group, LLC. Included in his responsibilities were the strategic planning, fuel economy and performance simulation, sub-system specification, and development activities necessary to achieve the competitive and regulatory fuel economy and CO2 requirements for Chrysler Group products.
Preceding his strategic planning responsibilities, Pannone spent nearly 25 years in engine and powertrain systems development. At Chrysler, he oversaw all of the engine systems development efforts, including the re-launch of the modern HEMI V8 line of engines. Before joining Chrysler, he was with General Motors Powertrain for 8 years and was involved in the development of many engines, from heavy-duty gasoline engines to the venerable Chevrolet small-block V8.
Pannone holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science & Technology and a master's degree of Applied Statistics from Oakland University. He has authored and co-authored technical papers on alternative fuels, engine technology and control, exhaust emission after-treatment, vehicle fuel efficiency, and regulatory analysis.
