Mr. Nechaev expertise comprises Russian upstream and downstream economics (profitability, exploration costs and activities, production and refining operating and capital costs, transportation, taxes), midstream projects, crude oil and products quality issues, upstream projects developments and production capacity. His practical experience developing upstream and downstream strategies for Russian oil companies and international majors, supporting IPOs and debt financing, consulting governments on oil industry investment attractiveness (taxes, licensing, process), supply chain management. Mr. Nechaev is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, an author of industry reports, and a commentator to oil industry developments in Russia on business TV programs and press. He is the author of many research articles, government reports, and other publications.
Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Nechaev worked in the strategy consulting firms Booz & Co. and Roland Berger developing strategies for oil companies. Before that, he spent four years with IBM Business Consulting Services, improving operational process with Russian oil majors. Prior to this, Mr. Nechaev was an internal auditor enhancing internal controls at TNK-BP, a Russian joint-venture with BP. Mr. Nechaev holds a BA in economics, an MA in political economy from Dartmouth College, and an MBA.
