His research focuses on political, regulatory and violent risks in emerging markets, as well as resource nationalism, expropriations and social conflicts over access to natural resources. Mr. Moya-Ocampos is frequently quoted in the media including Sky's Jeff Randall Show, CNBC's Squawk box, BBC World Service, Associated Press (AP), Reuters, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, Financial Times (FT), AFP, Time Magazine, Petroleum Economist, Downstream Today and by think tanks, such as Brookings Institution, Hudson Institute and reports of the U.S. Congressional Research Service (CRS). He has been invited as guest speaker at the London School of Economics (LSE), Paris Science Po, Oxford University, Chatham House, International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), London's Frontline Club, Canning House and others. Previously, he had served as a lawyer advising government and private companies on constitutional, administrative and environmental law issues. Mr. Moya-Ocampos holds a Master of Science in environmental policy and regulation from the London School of Economics (LSE), United Kingdom, a postgraduate degree as specialist in administrative law and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Venezuelan universities.
