Sara Muhammad Malik

Sara Muhammad Malik is an associate director within the S&P Global Commodity Insights Consulting Group and is focused on regulatory framework design and good practices for decarbonization of energy operations.

Sara is an Associate Director at S&P Global Commodity Insights and advises clients across the energy value chain. She brings over 12 years of experience within the energy sector and is an experienced leader delivering projects focused on energy policy formulation, regulatory compliance, corporate strategy, carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) and energy decarbonization strategies.

Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, Sara was an Advisor to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources in Pakistan. Before that, she was a consultant with USAID Energy Policy Program. She started her career as an in-house lawyer with OMV and a national oil company. She also formed the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) - Pakistan Steering Committee and has led successful events that enable knowledge sharing and generate networking opportunities.

Sara holds a Master of Public Administration in Economic Policy and Global Energy Management from Columbia University and an LLM in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee (CEPMLP).
