Karl is an Associate Director in the US Regional Economic Service at S&P Global Market Intelligence. He prepares forecasts and written analysis for Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Alaska and the metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) of those states. He regularly speaks about these regional economic forecasts and trends to clients, at conferences, and the press with quotes in regional and national news outlets including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNBC, Yahoo Finance, USA Today. Karl is involved in the Regional group's economic impact assessment modeling work with projects analyzing the Community Development Block Grant program's impact on metro area economies, economic impacts of tax-exempt bond funding, and capital spending impact studies for several utilities. He writes reports on regional trends with a focus on energy markets, international trade, and regional business costs.
Karl received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he was a Commonwealth Scholar.
