Southeast Asia depends on fossil fuel generation to meet nearly 80% of the region's power needs. Given the availability of coal resources in the region, coal generation makes up close to 60% of the fossil fuel generation. In 2021, many Southeast Asian countries announced more concrete decarbonization targets, signalling the acceleration of their energy transition journey.

During this Energy Briefing, our experts will discuss the impacts, opportunities and challenges of decarbonization in Southeast Asia.
